The Pig Pen Music Festival 2006 |
The second Pig Pen Music Festival was held on Saturday/2nd/September/2006. Due to licence restrictions, the number of tickets on sale was limited which resulted in them selling out quickly. Unfortunately, bad weather prevailed throughout most of the day, but/it didn't seem to matter to anyone, as long as there was live music and a bar. 2006 LINE-UP: - Taser, The Lurios, The Furtive, The Misled Heroes, Idiot Savant, Demon Summer, Danny Kebabs, The Romance, Sugarstone, Burnout in the Capital, Mercedes. |

We would like to thank the following people who kindly volunteered their services and helped to construct the festival site and ran the event on the day: Cliff Walker, John Morris, Wayne Morris, Nathan Stephenson, Mark Hand, Ian Snowball, Simon Whelan, Jamie Campbell, Paul Baldwin and Dave Robinson. We'd also like to say 'thank you' to the following volunteers who helped us on the day: Jamie and Nicky Campbell for manning the gate and carpark from beginning to end (and/getting completely soaked while doing so), Lena Chakravorty, Christine Stevens, Ste/Jobling, Bex Silversides, Christina Taylor and Michelle Terry for being brilliant barstaff, Phil Saunders from Ten Feet Tall for stage-managing the event, the Morris family (Mary, Alisa, Claire & Jessica) along with Steven and Thomas Bellars for running the ticket tent, Alan Cook for the use of his helicopter, Steve Mailen from Elwick Village Post Office, who did a lot more for us than just sell tickets, Bob & Denise Dunkley for running the 'close quarter battle' tent despite the weather and for the hay they provided to soak up the soggy field, Peter Hutchinson for the supplying straw to help get vehicles out of the mud and, in conjunction with David Appleton, preparing the land in the first place so that we could make a complete mess of it, Doreen and Gordon Bellars for looking after the staff throughout the day and Billy Ryan for the loan of stage lighting. Thanks to A-Plant Power Generation for the loan of the generator and Sedgefield Borough Council for the loan of tables & chairs. We also want to say 'thank you' to Denis Riley, Peter Leeds and Chris Townsend from Middlesbrough Town Hall for being the best security staff, Jason Hardy who helped with publicity distribution, Bob Fischer from Radio Cleveland, Rob Nichols from the Evening Gazette and thanks to our neighbours and the people of Elwick Village and Hartlepool. Finally, a big 'thanks' to Andy Tayler for running our MySpace site over the months and to all the bands who performed at the festival (special thanks to Taser and Sugarstone for their valued input). | |||
